Our Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance [ACCA route] is the perfect start for future accountants who want to achieve exemptions from ACCA, a globally-recognised qualification.
You will study core knowledge that develops the skills to achieve an ACCA qualification. Flexible entry points allow you to join this programme at different stages, provided you have passed or hold exemptions from relevant ACCA Fundamental Level Papers.
Successful completion of this course, or completion of the third term alone with exemptions, will earn you an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance. It will also secure your status of being part exam-qualified from the ACCA*.
Modules
Term 1
Accountant in Business (30 credits): Review business organisations, influences and constraints along with the history and specific functions of accounting financial control
Management Accounting (30 credits): Discover the nature and purpose of cost and management accounting, while exploring cost accounting and decision making techniques
Financial Accounting (30 credits): Develop understanding of the context and purpose of financial reporting including double entry, transaction recording, financial statements and more
Term 2
Corporate and Business Law (40 credits): Develops your skills and knowledge of the general legal framework relating to business
Performance Management (40 credits): Teaches you how to apply management accounting techniques to quantitative and qualitative information
Taxation (40 credits): Helps you to develop knowledge and skills relating to the tax system, as it applies to individuals and companies
Term 3
Financial Reporting (40 credits): Enables you to prepare, present, analyse and interpret financial statements which conform to UK standards
Audit and Assurance (40 credits): Develops your knowledge and understanding of the process and application of undertaking an audit assurance engagement
Financial Management (40 credits): Gives you an understanding of what is expected of a financial manager, including issues affecting investment and financing

Entry requirements
Those wishing to apply for this programme will require:
- Two A-Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent (grade 4/C or above) in five separate subjects, including maths and English; OR
- A Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) qualification (with which students will enter directly into term 2); OR
- Passes/exemptions in any ACCA Knowledge and Skills paper (AB-FM) but haven’t fully completed the level. This will allow students to enter the course in either term 2 or term 3 depending on the number of completed papers
